Many people are afraid to eat fish because of the mercury in it. Well some fish does not have as much mercury as others. You do need fish in your diet because there are many benefits to it. As Americans we do not eat enough fish as it is which is a problem.

Fish is considered one of the most power-packed foods for a healthy diet. It is an excellent source of Omega-3 fatty acids, which are known to prevent a huge range of diseases. Read on to know how:

1. Helps Avoid Depression - As stated above, fish contains Omega-3 fatty acids, and these are known to increase the levels of serotonin in the human brain. Therefore, the mind stays more optimistic and happier, leading to lesser instances of depression and low moods.

2. Prevents Alzheimer's - The consumption of fish helps limit the risk of high blood pressure. Therefore, the chances of dementia get greatly reduced. Moreover, the brain cells suffer lesser risk of damage due to the presence of polyunsaturated fatty acid in most kinds of fish.

3. Makes Skin Glow - This is one benefit that many people know about. Fish is actually really good for your skin. If you want to look younger, fish can do that through anti-wrinkle effects.
